Quisisana, new ISO 9001:2015 certification for its Quality Management System

The Quisisana Care Home in Ferrara has been awarded a new ISO 9001:2015 certification for its Quality Management System, issued by Bureau Veritas Italia.

The certificate, issued on 17 September 2026 and valid until 16 September 2029, covers the organisation and management of various healthcare activities at the facility.

A system for organising and monitoring activities

ISO 9001 certification relates to the way in which an organisation plans, coordinates, manages and controls its activities.

In a healthcare facility, this means operating through defined procedures, clear responsibilities and regular audits, with the aim of keeping processes under control and identifying areas for improvement over time.

The certification therefore does not relate to individual consultations, individual tests or a specific healthcare service, but to the system by which the activities included within the scope of certification are organised and managed.

Activities included in the certification

For Casa di Cura Quisisana, the new certification covers general medical inpatient care for patients in the acute phase, long-term post-acute care patients, geriatric patients and those in a persistent vegetative state.

It also covers certain outpatient services: gastrointestinal endoscopy, endocrinology, diagnostic imaging and cardiology.

These are different areas, united by the adoption of structured organisational methods and processes subject to control

Alongside the aspects most directly perceived by patients, the running of a healthcare facility involves numerous organisational activities that take place on a daily basis: from defining internal procedures and responsibilities to monitoring processes.

The new ISO 9001:2015 certification forms part of this work and represents a new milestone for Casa di Cura Quisisana on its journey towards organisational quality and the continuous improvement of its Quality Management System.
